NCBA & PLC SCORE MAJOR WIN

Continued from page 1
NCBA and PLC worked closely with the Trump administration throughout 2025 to repeal this unlawful rule. In September, the BLM announced it had begun the process of rescinding it— a major win for the western grazing community. Had the rule remained in place, it would have severely impacted rural economies by enabling the federal government to eliminate longstanding, revenue-generating land uses such as family ranching.
The West has long served as a testing ground for activistdriven policymaking. Many environmental and animal rights lobbying groups are intent on removing cattle from all lands— not just federal lands. Had the“ Public Lands Rule” been implemented, it would have provided these groups with tangible proof that their strategies are effective, likely accelerating efforts to advance additional policies that threaten cattle producers nationwide. NCBA actively engages on issues that could restrict U. S. cattle production, serving as the first line of defense against burdensome regulations.
Opponents of animal agriculture will continue to develop new proposals and repackage old ones in an effort to remove cattle from working lands. NCBA, alongside a strong coalition of agricultural partners, will continue to set the record straight and defend the U. S. cattle industry. Limiting production in one region or sector inevitably impacts all producers. That’ s why NCBA, in coordination with its state affiliates, remains vigilant— leveraging the executive branch, Congress and the federal court system to protect America’ s cattle producers.
