NCBA-PAC BREAKS FUNDRAISING RECORD

REACHES 93 % WIN RATE
Every day, NCBA is advocating for the cattle industry before policymakers and elected officials. When it comes to politics and helping our allies get elected to office in the first place, the cattle industry relies on NCBA-PAC. NCBA- PAC, or political action committee, is the political arm of the association. NCBA-PAC pools contributions from NCBA members and uses those funds to support congressional candidates running for office.
“ Farmers and ranchers are just 2 % of the U. S. population and it can sometimes feel difficult to make our individual voices heard. NCBA-PAC solves this issue by bringing cattle producers together, amplifying our voice, and using our shared contributions to impact congressional campaigns across the country,” said NCBA-PAC Chairman Donnie Lawson, an Indiana cattle producer.“ Thanks to NCBA members stepping up to support the PAC, we have set new fundraising records and hit a 93 % win rate. These are significant victories, but we will continue pushing forward to set new records in this next election cycle.”
In the 2023-2024 election cycle, NCBA-PAC raised a record $ 1,225,500. This is the most ever raised by the PAC and this money went directly to helping cattle industry supporters in Congress. In fact, 93 % of candidates supported by NCBA-PAC won their elections.
Running for office is expensive and the high cost of campaigning is what prevents some good candidates from winning their races. The average race for U. S. House of Representatives costs more than $ 2.78 million while the average Senate race costs $ 26.5 million, according to campaign finance data from the 2022 election cycle.
Before his career with NCBA, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Ethan Lane was a consultant for numerous congressional candidates and saw first-hand how fundraising impacts the ability to win.
“ Winning a political campaign is all about getting your name and your message out to voters. That is accomplished by hiring staff, buying advertising, distributing yard signs, sending mail to voters, and hosting events but all those things cost money,” Lane said.“ NCBA-PAC can play a decisive role in elections by making sure good candidates have the resources they need to win.”
As a bipartisan PAC, NCBA-PAC supports candidates on both sides of the aisle; the only criteria are whether the candidate will support America’ s cattle producers. Although 2026 midterm elections are a year away, NCBA-PAC is laying the groundwork now to be ready for sweeping victories next November.
